Peekaboo

Superman!

A good example?

It's getting pretty obvious in this house that no matter what we do, Kiernan will clearly pay most attention to Oliver, and then follow his lead....

Beach with Jack and Wes!

We went back to the beach on Saturday---it is the PERFECT place to spend the day. Oliver and Jack dug a hole that by the end was easily 4 feet deep. Kiernan and Wes ate lots of sand and then snoozed together in the stroller. It was perfect! Expect to see a similar post after next Saturday. And the one after that. And the one after that.....

Oliver's Last Day of School!

Today was Oliver's last day of school--so we are now officially on "summer vacation"! He really enjoyed the year with his teachers Nancy and Margaret and is definitely looking forward to next year! Happy summer!
It's amazing how different he looks from his first day of school!

A Posed Photo Session....

Please Touch Museum with Jack and Wes

Today we went to the Please Touch Museum with Jack and Wes. We had a really fun time. Here's Kiernan saying hello to a display of Smurfs...he spent at least 10 minutes talking to these guys.
Oliver and Jack took a few naps together....shhhh.....
Wes and Kiernan watched the big guys play with the water.

And then we saw this C-R-A-Z-Y lady who has clearly never heard of birth control! Is that two sets of twins? 4 kids under the age of three?!?

Dada!

It's official---Kiernan has said his first word! This morning, while we were running out the door, Mike took Oliver to put him in the car. Kiernan had been happily playing near me, but saw dad and big brother leaving without him. He started crying and crawling after them, at which point he said, "Dada! Dada!"

If anyone is keeping score, we are now 1 and 1. That is, Oliver said Mama first, Kiernan said Dada.

Tie breaker?

Trader Joes

We did a Trader Joes trip to gear up for our Memorial Day BBQ. Oliver was a HUGE help---he seriously helped fill his shopping cart, bag the groceries, and then load them in the car.

The Beach!

Today we went to the beach---Ocean City, NJ.

The second Oliver was awake, he dressed himself and couldn't wait to get out the door---this kid was EXCITED!

Oliver spent the entire time we were there with a shovel in his hand and Kiernan crawled around a lot. He thankfully ate a lot less sand this time.

Mike dug a huge hole in the ground---a perfect play pen!

Oliver really getting into his digging.

Baby's Birthday

So Oliver got it in his head that today is baby's birthday. Baby is the infant model that I use to teach childbirth classes---it fits through a model pelvis I have. Lately Oliver has decided that baby is his very own baby. He puts baby down for naps, brings him in the car and changes his diaper, although mostly he prefers baby without clothes (all the more embarrassing in the grocery store).

In order to celebrate baby's birthday, we decided to make a cake (it was rainy out today, so we needed something fun to do)!

Here is Oliver at nap time, he was so excited about baby's birthday, that he couldn't fall asleep. This song lasted 30 minutes, no joke.

And after dinner, and a birthday song, Oliver blew out the candles.

Happy Birthday Baby!!!

Kiernan's Favorite Toy

Our boy LOVES the dishwasher. It is by far his favorite thing in the house. If you open it and he's in another room, he stops what he's doing and makes a beeline for it. Is this Mike's neat-freak-ness coming through again?!?

Mother's Day Hike

We had a really great Mother's Day. The boys took me out to our favorite breakfast spot (Honey's Sit and Eat) and then we met the Arnold's at Valley Green for a hike. We hiked for a few hours, then went home and had a BBQ. A great day!

It's hard to see, but Jack is wearing suspenders here...

Here are Stephanie and I on the trail---this incredible hiking trail is actually within the city of Philadelphia---one of the greatest treasures of the cheese-steak city!

Magnets Really Are Funny...

So I decided it was time to try the Oliver laughing hysterically at a magnet trick with Kiernan. He finds them not just funny, but lose your lunch funny.....

Busy Spring

We've been really busy of late (and thus the lack of blogging). Spring is here and we can finally go on long walks, hit the playground and spend time in the garden. There may have been some time spent on Momma's new iPhone too....Oliver and Kiernan both passed out after a trip to the farmer's market.
Here's Oliver on his way to school. He walked the ENTIRE way---which is over a mile---and it only took us 48 minutes! Please note the plaid shorts and argyle socks.
We squeezed both boys into the sink for a bath. Kiernan loved it, and then he was tackled into the granite, which he didn't love so much.
